- This is how a lot of us feel. Vague promises of an Amiga rebirth and
- reassurances that they 'care' about the technology are giving people
- who want new Amiga PC's little cause for comfort.

- What will you do if Visicorp decides there will be no new Amiga
- personal computers? You do know that they haven't committed to
- making new Amiga PC? I'll keep my A4000 only as long as it takes
- to get a clone PC up to the funtionality of my present set up (net
- access, Web browser, C programming, writing). If I wanted to use
- a personal computer with no future as a PC I could still be using
- my old C-64.

-
- Agreed. Change inownership is not, by any means, bad. Waht was bad
- about the transition from C= to Escom was that it took over a year, during
- which time nothing was done to upgrade our OS or hardware.
- What is important here is what Visicorp's plans are.

- Amiga personal computers using new hardware are *not* presently part
- of Visicorp's plans; every post on the matter from people at the
- company has said 'they would be considering' new Amiga, although
- the present Amiga personal computer would continue to be supported.
-
- Hopefully we should be able to find out what Visicorp's intentions
- are once they actually acquire AT. As far as I know this hasn't
- happened yet. I imagine news will leak out if they stop davelopement
- on new amiga pc's, or fire the people responsible for that particular
- line of R&D. At least the waiting will be over then. I'm starting
- to feel like one of those people with MIA father who has almost
- given up hope, and is starting to wish that at least someone would
- find the body so they could end their anxiety.
- I fear, that at this point, the only thing that could
- rekindle the dwindling Amiga interest is a kick-ass machine that
- *makes* programmers and users desire to program or use it. It's
- still possible. I fear, however, that Visicorp's interests lie
- elsewhere.
